This mural is unique in the history of Belfast murals, in that it was a collaboration between political activists from across the religious / sectarian divide. The anti-war mural is based on a painting by Pablo Picasso, depicting the Nazi German bombing of Guernica, Spain in 1937. Danny Devenney, a renowned nationalist painter, together with Mark Ervine, the son of the late progressive unionist leader David Ervine, completed a replica of the painting on Belfast’s Falls Road.
